Drought Status

  • Drought Status
    • The number of days with precipitation has been decreasing and rainfall was concentrated in specific regions or seasons due to climate change. The frequency and severity of droughts have been rapidly increasing.
  • Public Awareness
    • Despite the fact that severe drought has occurred in recent years, public awareness on the issue is still low. Voluntary participation in various activities to mitigate the effects of droughts, including saving water, is very poor.
  • Water Usage Status
    • Water usage per person in Korea is 185L per day, which is 166% of Germany and 146% of China. (As of 2017).

To cope with drought which is aggravated by climate change,
all citizens should voluntarily participate in managing water consumption.
